impact allows you to easily and quickly record and update measures’ potentials and to check their effectiveness transparently. Potentials are calculated in the detailing phase and stored in impact. In the context of Status Reports, potentials are checked (comparison of Act/FC to plan) and updated if necessary.
Before potentials can be recorded, updated or analyzed, the following steps are necessary:
- Opening the potentials area
- Setting the desired views (Set views)
- Setting the units and currencies
Entering and updating potentials
Generating plan-actual comparisons

There are three ways to open the potentials area:
- Via the “Potentials“ tab
- Choose the relevant measure from the measure tree.
- Click on the “Potentials“ tab.
- After setting the viewing options you can enter, update and analyze potentials.
- Via the “Process“ tab
- Choose the relevant measure from the measure tree.
- Click on the “Process“ tab, select the current Degree of Implementation (e.g. DoI 1, DoI 3) and click on the link “Potentials“.
- After setting the viewing options you can enter, update and analyze potentials.
- Via the “Status Report“ tab (via pop-up window)
- Choose the relevant measure from the measure tree.
- Click on the “Status Report“ tab and then on the word Potential. In the newly opened pop-up window you have the same options as in options 1. and 2.
- After setting the viewing options you can enter, update and analyze potentials.
